Grant Friedman

Grant is a partner and executive at Africrest Properties, a prominent build-to-rent/multifamily housing property company in South Africa. With over 13 years of experience in the property industry, Grant is dedicated to developing world-class estates that prioritise the happiness of their tenants.

Grant's journey in the property sector started at the age of 21 when he successfully refurbished 57 apartments and was responsible for their leasing and management. Since then, Africrest Properties has flourished, amassing a portfolio of over 3,000 apartments and establishing itself as a pioneer in converting office buildings into residential spaces. Notably, the company holds the distinction of completing the largest office-to-residential conversion ever undertaken in South Africa, positioning it to become one of the country's leading owners of build-to-rent (multi-family housing) properties.

Under Grant's leadership, Africrest Properties has gained recognition for its outstanding work in property development. In 2022, they proudly received the esteemed Best Residential Redevelopment Award for Africa and Arabia, and they also earned international recognition as a runner-up.
