“I grew up in a middle - upper class home where my parent’s greatest priority was Jewish education of the highest level. They made sure both my sister and I benefitted from an entire King David Education, at the expense of frequent vacations and other luxuries.
King David gave me a great secular education, but more importantly a strong Jewish identity, and while not being observant at the time, our Jewish and religious education at King David equipped us to easily merge into a religious way of life in another country if we chose.
I think of my years at King David often and with great fondness. The classrooms, the assemblies, the prayers every morning, and wonderful teachers. Some that still come to mind -Mr Wolf, Mrs Barclay, Mrs Levenstein, Ms Van Achterburg, Mrs Wolf, Mr Tannenbaum and Dr Thomas to name a few. Some of my great memories are of Dr Thomas - our Latin teacher - who called me tuberacchi (little potato - so she said).
I’m astounded by the international presence that Ralene and her team have established over the last several years , and how you’ve 'brought us back to King David'. We can’t wait to visit one day!”.
