Justin Blend with his partners Greg Blend and Grant Friedman (all ex-King Davidians) spearhead Africrest Properties which is a leader in the Built to Rent (Multi Family Housing) asset class in South Africa.
Being one of the largest office to residential development companies in the country, Africrest’s flagship development is the Apollo, the conversion of the ex-PwC office building in Sunninghill, into 700 apartments, which is believed to be the largest conversion ever in South Africa.
At the heart of the company’s estates, Africrest focuses on creating communities. Justin’s other passions are cycling (road and mountain bike), running (road and trail), snow skiing, reading / podcasts, having great experiences, learning new things.

“I loved my time at King David, having attended Minnie Berson Nursery School, King David Sandton Primary School and King David Linksfield High School.
Teachers that stood out to me are - Miss Bower; Miss Benjamin; Mr Wolf; Mrs Bolnick.
I believe King David gives one ‘an edge’, almost a sense of chutzpah, that is very helpful to have in the world.
To this day I still have best friends that were made in nursery school, primary and high school. The sense of community that the school gives one is irreplaceable”.
