After graduating from King David High School in Johannesburg, South Africa, Simmie Cooper moved to the United States in 1976 and entered the University of Southern California, majoring in accounting. He graduated in 1981 with a B.A. in Business Administration and was also qualified as a CPA.
Simmie met his wife, Linda a Television Host and Producer in Los Angeles and were married in 1990. They have 2 children Teal and Tristan who currently reside in San Diego
In the late 1980’s, Simmie and Linda moved to Dallas. Simmie founded Cooper Homes to create high-end homes and operated successfully until 2017. Simmie built hundreds of custom homes, priced from $500k to $15m. In the late 1990's, he founded 2 entry-level home building companies, Camden Homes and Casas Modernas, which combined have built over 5000 homes throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and Houston area.
In 2012 Simmie formed CooperZadeh a development company which has successfully developed over 6000 lots for Camden Homes and several Public Home Building companies
In 2021 Camden Homes partnered with JP Morgan and Global Atlantic to develop and build a $500 million single family rental portfolio which will be managed and owned by Cooper and his partner.
