After matric at King David Susan attended Wits and studied English Literature. Having completed her three years at Wits she married and had a daughter. In 1977 she emigrated to London with her daughter and husband. Almost by default she found herself working in administration for the National Health Service. For twenty years she ran health centres, which she found to be interesting and rewarding work. Her first husband passed away in 2000 and in 2003 she remarried and moved to Monte Carlo where she retired.
Susan is a trustee of the Harbour Foundation (a family charity) which supports, among other things, students at universities in Israel. She is also an honorary member of the Royal College of Music, in recognition of support her foundation gives to the College.
“I remember my years at school with great happiness. I feel very lucky to have been given the opportunity of spending so many years at such a fine school. Not only did we receive first rate education, but we were able to cement friendships and at all times I felt supported. The school had a very special atmosphere. We were taught kindness and consideration and learnt to value our Jewish identity.
I especially remember Judy Cohen who taught us English literature and it is because of her that I retain to this day a love for literature”.
