Financial assistance for Jewish learners in need
“If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?
– Rabbi Hillel, Ethics of the Fathers
Our carefully planned Subsidy Programme provides educational opportunities to many learners, who would otherwise not be able to benefit from an education of excellence at the King David Schools.
Currently, just under 10% of income from full-fee paying parents is allocated annually to a subsidy fund that affords over 500 children from less affluent families the opportunity to attend the King David Schools.
We aim to raise sufficient capital through our Endowment Fund to sustain the Subsidy Programme with the long-term vision of eliminating the need for this annual allocation.
This will provide the opportunity to make future Jewish schooling more accessible and affordable to the community, while still having sufficient funds for capital development projects, and educational and institutional advancement programmes.
King David is of the belief that a world-class school requires a world-class network.
