“Growing up in Johannesburg, I attended King David Linksfield where I enjoyed playing first-team rugby, winning the Matric art award, making small explosives in my sciences class with Mr. Dal Bianco, and playing in a punk band.
As a student, I was artistic and enjoyed experimenting, taking measured risks, and being curious. Today, I credit my temperament and passion for building and executing on ideas to my KDL teachers. Mrs. Segall in junior school and Mr. Kaplan, Mr. Wolf, and Mr. Bloch in High school. They encouraged me to have the confidence to be different and be determined.
I think back on my time at KD often. The community of friends and teachers around me was incredibly supportive in my most impressionable years. It is certainly one of the biggest contributors to my life, second to my parents and maybe rock music.''
