Michelle Lissoos is the founder and director of Think Ahead Education Solutions and the iSchoolAfrica Education Trust. Think Ahead focuses on working with educational stakeholders to transform education to meet the needs of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. iSchoolAfrica‘s aim is to find innovative and creative learning solutions - that can address the challenge of resources and skills in rural and township schools.
Prior to this, Michelle was Managing Director of Learnthings, where she was closely involved in the integration of digital curriculum into schools, teacher training, consultation on ICT policy and deployment within the education sector across UK and Africa. During this time, she was also closely involved in the Nepal e-commission - the aim of which was to accelerate Africa’s digital integration. She spent time travelling across the African continent working with government and other technology stakeholders.
Michelle started who working life in the advertising industry in London and JHB but has spent the past 20 years revolutionising the South African education sector by bringing technology to classrooms across the country. Michelle studied at WITS and UNISA (English, French, and Industrial Psychology) and was Head Girl of the King David Victory Park Class of 1985.
Through her work in education - she has been the recipient of awards such as the Elle Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Award, Oprah Winfrey/Sasol Changemaker finalist, L’Oreal Woman of Worth. Michelle regularly presents at local and international conferences, focusing on trends in education - and how we can prepare our youth to thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
